PRESS RELEASE (Martha's
Vineyard) Louisa Gould Gallery is pleased to announce the opening
show for the 2015 season, “
Kick-Off to Summer” group show.
The exhibit opens on Saturday, May 23 with an artist reception from 4
to 7PM. Over forty new works in various styles by Paul Beebe,
Christie Scheele, Nick Pacoriek, Rosenfeld, Teek Eaton-Koch, Donna
Blackburn, John Holladay and Kate Huntington will be on view till
June 11.
Paul Beebe brings realistic
waves and classic boats to life oil on linen.
John Holladay
uses acrylics to express the various light and moods of Menemsha and
up-island farm scenes.
Christie Scheele paints landscapes and
seascapes of the Vineyard in a soft realistic style. Continuing with
the water theme,
Nick Paciorek, uses bright oils to bring a
modern day view of the crew races in both large and small scale. In
addition to other paintings of yachts sailing and boats at the
mooring.
Rosenfeld uses a more abstract way to bring the peace
of the water in pleasing hues and tones to her oil on linen. Whereas,
Dorothy Fox
acrylic's
further abstract the the scenes of Katama Beach, the ocean and
downtown Edgartown. Rounding out the exhibit are representative
paintings of West Chop Lighthouse by
Teek Eaton-Koch and
paintings of children playing games and music and animals by
Donna
Blackburn.
